Apparently it's got to be an 05 model, according to Bonwick and Champ.
I'm not sure on the differences though, and haven't really looked into
    it much.

Horrible looking exhausts, 20lb heavier, slightly more powerful,
better handling, steering damper standard, not as nasty to ride fast.

In other words the older model is the choice of fools. Christofire
    should get one.

That's why I'd advise you to buy a 10R if I thought you could ride it.

I'm leaving it to the reader to decide why I don't think you could
    ride a 10R.

Oh come on Andy's not that mean. He was just pointing out that you're a
decrepit old crone who can't get down to tie his shoelaces

As I've said before, I've come to realise that, for some odd reason,
sports bike riding positions seem to suit me better than more "comfy"
ones ... the 98 R1, for example, was widely held to be torture, but I
didn't have too many problems once the initial 2-week
    "AAAARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!!" period was over :)[/QUOTE]

Nobody believes you. Now that WUN is an invalid get over and buy the
    Blingmobile )
I agree to an extent, the Gixxer just needed the bars raising a bit and
I found it very good. The K1100LT gave me more lower back pain.

I really was thinking bad back but I knew you wouldn't say that
yourself. I'm not a bad person really..

and given that I really didn't like it due to the pain it gave my
    back.

I paid 150 quid for mine on eBay. That's more or less half price. I
still haven't fitted the Gilles fully adjustable clip-ons yet.

  13. I did the same thing on my Gixxer. I still find the ZX9R more comfy though.

You'll really hate it in a couple of weeks, once I've fitted the Gilles
Variobars. They're 15mm lower than stock.

    Yes..lower!

They did come with risers that raise the bars by 55mm, but I looked at
them, laughed and threw them back in the box.

Well quite, that being my point, he wouldn't. The downside with the
Gilles (for me) was they did not have adjustment to *lower* the peg when
    moving them rearwards.
Well lovely bring it over thanks.

I couldn't track down the Snap-On man for the area recently and just
bought a set of Draper Pro screwdrivers, soft handled type with a hex on
the shaft to take a spanner. Pretty pleased with them and given the
grief/variety of use one tends to dump on screwdrivers I will feel less
    guilty.

I found it even better than the Sprint ST I had before, straight out
of the box, as it were. Sure, I get some neck pain after three or four
hours, but that's just 'cos I've got a knackered neck that hurts afetr
being in _any_ position for that length of time. One thing I have
noticed, though, is that it's not half as good without the tankbag,
which A) alters the wind on my chest quite considerably and B) allows
me to stay sat further back and avoid banging my bollocks on the tank.
As in, very low back, you mean? Like a right PITA?
