Well that's the first time in a long time I've been called a young stud,
Steve. Who'd have thought you'd call me that.
Well I suppose you are entitled to the odd snigger now and then.

You are mixing with the wrong self opinions then.

In itself the whole post was meant to be gently sarcastic. All I was
doing was using it to avoid the rather clichéd "go for a fucking ride"
and get a cheap chuckle at your expense that I wouldn't have otherwise
    had.

But the ironic bit is that folks generally do say it how they see it.
So getting out and getting a grin on you face for an hour or three may
not be such a bad idea.

    Full of surprises me.

    CAYSBS#?

Miserable old **** doesn't seem to be obliging in the SBS# department
lately, it must be worth a try?

  8. I take it you didn't volunteer to work all night NYE though?

  9. No. They are trying to force us to work on a duty roster and also to be
available 24/7 over Christmas. I have refused point blank to do it. The
monetary compensation can never be enough for me to work to those
conditions. Also the 1st Jan is my birthday so why the **** do I want to
be on duty freezing my bollocks off the night before dealing with people
too pissed to know what time of day it is?

I expect that I will lose my job or be forced to resign over this. I
don't expect to be working for LUL much beyond next March (I'm on 13
    weeks notice).

****! What are you going to do? I suppose that the other major
underground operators would be happy to have you, yes? Where do you
fancy - New York? Paris? Tokyo?

They obviously don't know you very well, Paul. I wish you all the
best in your dealings with the Beings of The Ivory Tower.

  13. Oh dear, sorry to hear that, and there's me all happy with work at the
moment. (FWIW, I'm on annual leave that week, so can't volunteer even
    if I wanted to!)

  16. Oh I think they do. They just think they can win - they probably will if
my over indebted and over mortgaged colleagues are anything to go by.
There is also the fact that the bosses are doing this because their
bosses are telling them to do it and they are so shit scared of losing
their recent promotions that anything goes.

I have a financial safety net plus a decent work record and a working
brain which means that I shouldn't have too many issues if I want to
find another job - even if it pays less than the current one.

  18. Interesting thought - why would my conscience not be clear if I went of
    my own accord?

Because it looks like you are taking a position which suggests that you
wouldn't mind a frank and free exchange of opinions, if they had the

either way you are out of there.
