I've just done a week. Before that I did another week. I've managed to
break the 4-pack a night habit, restricting it to one night at the
weekend.

28 cans a week? I didn't realise retail was quite that stressful. What
brew did the cans contain?

 

Cheap shit bitter / lager usually.

It wasn't the alcohol, more the habit, I think.

 

Is 28 beers a week excessive? I must moderate my intake in future.

I'm sure you know what the recommended intake is and then you'll
promptly ignore it in true Bonwick style.

I famously drink next to nothing so am often a bit surprised at quite
how much various ukrmers manage to knock back.

 

From my experience of beer culture UKRM's drinking pales into
insignificance (except a notable few). Mainly because it's not
institutionalised; fortunately my experience has moved on.

For the past few weeks I have been slowly getting rid of a load of
shite old French lager by mixing it with shite old lemonade from Tesco
and making something that in moments of extreme thirst can pass for
shandy.

 

I have to admit to lying a bit when we moved and I registered at a new
doctors. They gave us both a sheet to fill in and I was slightly light
on the amount I admitted to drinking and smoking.

Probably not.

 

Heh. When I went to see our GP for the first time, couple of days
after I'd come out of hospital, he asked me all the same questions, to
which I answered that I drank about 2-3 glasses of wine per day, which
is about right _at the moment_. He still went on to ask if I had any
dependency issues, giving the impression that this was viewed as a
lot. I was quite taken aback.
