I have - inadvertently, it must be admitted - just gone 24 hours without
    alcoholic refreshment.

    I rock.

I prefer it if they're numb.

    I'm sure you'll understand.

    I don't.

I am well stocked with a good selection of Wychwood's finest.

Me too- I had enough Wednesday night and wished I didn't have to go
    into work Thursday.

Top night on Wednesday, nice to see Slider out of hibernation (even
with the bum fluff on his chin.)

    Must do again soon.

Pah! I did 7 days last week due to having to take some antibiotics.
Although I was told I could have alcohol in moderation I decided to
take the opportunity to go dry. Back to normal now, though.

    I'm not drinking this week.

I keep reminding myself of this. Just after downing a swift half at
Paddington on the way home on Tuesday. Just after opening a Bitburger at
home on Wednesday evening. Just as a colleague bought me a second pint
    yesterday lunchtime.

Doesn't bode well for the weekend really.

I was fine, except that what had gone in as a liquid seemed to want to come
    out as a gas...
Sarah couldn't get over how young he is.
Oh yes. Ever been in the Fox Den?

Is that all? I did just under 11 months this/last year without alcohol.

    <fx: whispers> I felt a lot better for it.

Did you feel it was all getting *a bit much* then? I dropped it after
my 23rd bifday after a Mezcal Slammer Fest and kept it TT until the
next. I only felt better because I'd been skinning waaay too much, as
    presumably you were.

Good god man, you will bring The Province into disrepute.
I'm heading out in Holywood for a 12:30 lunch which will be followed by
Port and a trip to the Maypole for Goodness....just to balance the
    scales.

Memory shot to bits, hangovers lasting three or four days, means to an
end and all that, political need /not/ to tell them what I think of them.

    So that's a yes.

    Well done that man.

I've just become an old geezer and to prove that I'm still capable, have
been imbibing large quantities of fine wine and spirits. It feels like
everynight for the last few weeks has involved over eating in
restaurants and drinking heavily till the early hours. I just hope the
need to party wears off before my liver wears out.

    Is this a first, then?
I was on the wagon for over three weeks recently. Does that mean I
    rock too?

I've been imbibing perhaps 2-3 glasses of wine or equiv. in the last
few days, but combined with the morphine and the overall tiredness the
soporific effect can be quite startling.

That was where I was drinking Tribute last Friday after work[1]. Pleasant
enough watering-hole, very much in the style of where we were on Wednesday
    night.

[1]and this Friday after work, too. Hmm.
