Just as I've got another piece of biking history (read crap) on the road,
some guy enquired if i knew anyone who could direct him to getting....

A kickstart return spring for an Ariel Square Four.
The way he spoke makes me guess he has the 1000cc type...
OH he still has the old broken kickstart spring. he even said I could ride
    the thing..
if I 1st help bump started it
    any help mucho appreciated

I would have *guessed* that the easiest way to do this would be to take
the broken spring to a small spring manufacturer (Google or Yellow
    Pages) and have one made.

I'm humbled at such a response. The spring maker has been
mentioned ...but loathed to part with original.
Hamrax is the ideal solution. I'll even travel from Coventry
to London, as this kickstarter spring will be valued more than
    gold bullion.
Many many thanks to you all

    Try

They're Ariel specialists and I'm sure stock Burman gearbox parts. If
not, I'm sure they can point you at someone who does have them . Maybe
    the Ariel Owners Club?
