You're still older than me though. To make this fair you need to go
create a time machine so we can both go back to a point where we're the
same age and don't have bike licences. Then we should make our other
selves pass our tests and ride the same bikes in a race.

That would prove it, almost certainly.

    Yeah, that sounds great.

I'm not sure what the food was like back then so do you think we should
take some pot noodles back as well?

I put my application in 3 months before my 16th birthday, just to make
sure I had one ready for the big day.

    There wasn't a World Cup in 1988. Mexico '86, and Italia '90.

A bit pre-emptive, I know, but you're old: you're bound to repeat yourself

I have always been a bloody deviant.

FFS I was a deviant before half of you lot were even thought about.

Perhaps you think deviancy is the exclusive possession of the young do
you? I can tell you that there is nothing further from the truth.

There is nuffing you can't tell me about being a deviant that I haven't
already found limp and unexciting and moved on from sonny.

I mean, I am a deviant, my father was a deviant before me and his father
before him was a deviant back to the dawn of time.

When she was coherent and sufficiently far upwind that the lingering
odour of gin and wee was reduced sufficiently to hear over your own
coughing; my own dear departed grandmother used to say, "you find
yourself a good convent school girl from Canvey Island boy and you will
never have to pay for what all yer uncles pay double for." Now there
was someone who new a thing or two about deviancy so don't you start on
    at me about it.

Actually, thinking about it, it was more of a taste than an odour.

Any chance of listening when the nurse reads the posts to you? I said
"anymore", indicating you very well might have been a hellraiser in your
time. The rest of the rant was at your usual standard though.

Well. I suppose not really. Not that it would make any actual
difference if I was mind but frankly I can't be arsed these days. It
may well be one of those: been there, dunnit, got the antibodies to
prove it but on the whole I do reckon it is something you eventually
    grow out of.
