The fine FAQ for this newsgroup can be found at:
    http://www.unixconsult.co.uk/bike/ukrmcfaq.html

It makes good reading for old timers and newbies alike, and will
provide answers to to questions ranging from how to post to
uk.rec.motorcycle.classic, which types of posts are welcome and which
aren't to information about the do's and don'ts of buying bikes for
    restoration.

Submissions to the FAQ and associated link pages are always
welcome. Please send them to the email address this posting originates
    from.

The FAQ was last updated 6/11/2005. Please note that the URL for the FAQ
has changed, although the old URL should continue to work.

If what TOG has written about buying a bike, makes him an expert, then
that doesnt say a great deal for the level of knowledge of other
posters on this NG..........If his section on buying an old bike can be
deleted, then I would be pleased to do it again properly.

Why don't you post your section, I'm sure if it's better that TOGs
    section could be replaced.

  4. I reckon it's time to start ignoring this **** again. I give you almost any
odds you care to mention that he won't bother to do so, even if he has the
    knowledge, which I doubt.

Tut tut SM boy....................I was offering to rewrite a section
of your FAQ which would be of genuine help to anyone reading it!

Thus spake Ken () unto the assembled multitudes:
Go on then, Ken, put your money where your mouth is. Write your proposed
replacement section, post it here, and we can judge for ourselves whether
it's worthy of inclusion in the FAQ. Your first and last chance to prove
yourself rather than just slagging people off.

Looks to me that I am the one being slagged off..............after all
being accused of being some sort of perv is hardly a complement is it?

And one wonders if I made the effort to write an accurate used bike
buyers guide, whether I would not be slagged off in the same way by
idiots like TOG, who have proved that they dont know their arse from
    their elbows!

Thus spake Ken () unto the assembled multitudes:
That's not the issue. You keep saying how much more you know about bikes
than (say) TOG, but nowhere do you provide a shred of evidence to back this
    up.
Then this is your chance to prove that you do know your arse from your
elbow. There's no other way to do it. Either write up or shut up. How
    about it, Ken?

Firstly the FAQ area needs specific info on the various mechanical
problems suffered by various bikes, and approx cost of repair.

Secondly this needs to be presented by someone who knows what they are
talking about, and can actually do the repair work described, rather
than just look it up on the net!

Thirdly and perhaps most importantly of all, is for FAQ's to be
properly written by people who have first hand experience, possibly
with separate sections on each make of bike, generated by individuals
that have in depth knowledge of specific makes.

  11. not pointing the finger - that was a general comment to everyone. OK, it's
fun winding 'em up now and then, but it gets tedious.

  12. OK, so get off your arse and do it, or shut the **** up.

Your call. You keep implying you have knowledge. If you do, get typing. If
not, piss off back under your bridge.

And I'd be a bit wary of hotly denying knowledge of what look to me to be
postings made from your account... the last bloke I came across who
regularly made such claims is now in nick in Dublin somewhere; his penchant
for questionable photos of young boys having caught up with him, or rather,
the law having done so and accumulated enough evidence.

  13. The thing that amuses me about this is wtf he thinks people like Lozzo
and myself were doing in the 20 years we were messing around with
ShiteOldBikes before the interwebthingy was invented.....

Sounds like fun. I also remember one Michael Zamkowic, whose ill-advised
pervy postings landed him with a few headaches....

Um, I thought I saw a sign that said we shouldn't really be feeding
them. Apparently they become acclimated to the company of humans and
    thus more of a nuisance.

You really do post just to read your drivel in print dont
    you................what utter and complete bollocks!

Thing is no one I have encountered here has much idea of anything
mechanical, and other than making crude attacks on others, their
    literary talents seem very limited!

  16. You have absolutely no idea what my knowledge of things mechanical.

I, however, have formed the distinct impression that you are a complete
    waste of fresh air.

    bye-bye.

    *cough*

And you suggest others shouldn't feed him?

Really, if you're going to post "don't reply to so-and-so" you shouldn't
undermine it by doing the self same thing yourself.

    "Now" would be nice.

    Thanks.

Its hilarious that the dimmer the person the harder they bite, and very
often will only desist when others point out in a diplomatic fashion
what complete twats they are making of themselves.................How
many times you taken the bait pea brain???

Very much the oposite Andy.............it is you that has risen to the
bait every time I have offered it to you, and by so doing have made
    yourself look very silly indeed!

Interesting though that the groups self professed "expert" (TOG) cant
even build a wheel, or repair a rusty exhaust though.............as
this is the case, wonder how he can offer advice to others?
