Whilst hard at work last night and between watching the cricket I put
together a rough outline of my route. Anyway the idea is if someone has an
idea for a better route or for something of interest to be visited let me
know. Recommendations for good hotels/motels also gratefully accepted.

I have about 10 months before I go and many long nights at work to plan and
refine details of the trip. The funny thing is most probabley I will head
south and thats the only part of my itinerary I will follow

might find yourself a backpacker while you are at it ;)

pubs are always good places to stay at also

rooms usually $20-$30 and a good feed and usually helpful publicans will
    provide
    safe parking for the night

Most people travel anti-clockwise because you get the tailwinds down the WA
coast and across the Nullabor. It might make as much difference on a bike as
it would in a car towing a caravan but it's still worth considering.

Good move, I took my holidays in July once to go to Darwin with a mob of
riders who subsequently changed their plans so I went out to Alice, south to
Adelaide and followed the coast back to Townsville with a week in Melbourne.

    **** that!

    Never a-fucking-gain!

Froze when the sun went down two hours north of Alice and didn't feel warm
again till a month later, somewhere north of Newcastle...

No, it's because you save about a hundred kilometres as you are riding in
the inside lane all the way...

Not to forget that you save a lot of fuel by not having to work against
    the Coriolus effect.

Err, no. If you are in the centre of your lane you will be travelling in a
circle of 3.5 metres less radius, saving you a whole 22 metres on your trip.
You will gain an extra few metres at every roundabout you turn left at

  11. Unless, of course, you're on a chain drive bike. _Everybody_ knows its
only shaft drive bikes that suffer from the coriolus effect. (is that
    _really how you spell it?)

big (its why they don't countersteer or wheelie, you know...)

No, i.t. spells "it", That's how I spell Coriolus. Of course if I'd
intended to write "coriolis" I might have been inclined to spell it that
    way.
