So you can see clearly 50 metres down the road when splitting ? How is
your vision on a nice rainy day ?

FFS if people in cars have problems seeing bikes then would it not br
    possible
that bikers may not have Superman ( smeeman ) vision and may miss something
    like that.

You don't ride in heavy traffic much do you Will?
How fast do you think people lanesplit?
    how observant are you?
You didn't even know that the tyres on your bike could be purchased at
any bike shop that sell tyres ffs

    Read above Will

If you can't clearly see the space you'll end up in, you don't go. Most
riders make note of alternative spaces in case conditions change (lights go
    green, someone merges etc).

    See above.
Few riders split at high speed, or through fast moving traffic.
Most don't need a law to dictate to them what constitutes acceptable risk.
Better to have sensible legislation than complete prohibition, and sensible
enforcement to bring to heel those whose contempt reflects negatively upon
    us all.

    "mindless .." rerit:
What has worked for riders can also work for drivers. It does need guts
to implement, oh and a working mind to relise the benifits. So I guess
I'm not talking to Nev :p

  7. 1. Legalise lane splitting below 40km/h
    2. Allow motorcycles the discretion to travel 5Km/h faster than traffic
    3. Make "I didnt see you mate" an inappropriate defence. Subject to eye
test, if they pass - charge with neg driving.
    4. Adjust noise laws to 98 db
    5. Make it illegal for councils to leave gravel on the road.

  9. 1. Driver awareness of motorcycles. Incorporate into driver education.
    2. More consistently applied advisory speed signs. (They don't always
give a corner with the same difficulty the same rating).
    3. Better awareness in manufacturers of the benefits of ABS brakes. The
first were introduced about 20 years ago.
    4. Specific parking provision for motorcycles wherever cars park, as is
already done in some places, at discount rates where applicable,
preferably making use of spaces where cars don't fit.
    5. Reduced rate or free tollway access for motorcycles. Hardly a dent in
revenue (look at the ratio of cars to cycles and eliminate about
two-thirds of motorcycles on weekdays), but removing a great
    inconvenience for riders.

Is it any wonder when presented a choice of protest rides, member
discounts, social rides and breakdown service?

Considering the current administration and Damien's resurrection back in
the MRA is it any wonder they haven't got a clue?
