.... to talk of things to do,
    like getting shot of Blackbirds,
    and buying Hondas new.

    Resistance was futile.
The finance sub-committee had to give in the end.[1]
If only to stop my nagging.

Now then: the nice man on the 'phone suggested £2k as a starting point
for P/X negotiations on the Blackbird, but I anticipate him revising
    that when he sees it.

So, I might as well see if anyone here wants it (calm down Loz).

    Details:

1999 V plate Blackbird, in Candy Glory Red. Location: London E14.
First of the injected models, last one before the 186mph restrictions
were introduced.[2] Sweepy needle speedo. 32,500 miles, going up by
around 70 a week. HISS. New battery and reg/rec.

Taxed and MOT'd to end November 09.

    Currently sporting:
Hugger, Heli Bars, Givi rack and Maxia top box[3]. Double bubble
screen, K&N re-usable air filter. It will get new oil and a filter,
probably next weekend. Datatool Veto alarm.
Chain and sprox about 8k miles old.. Running Avon Storms, half worn,
rear has a plug in it where a very tiny nail went in. Baglux tank
cover. It will get a good clean beforehand.

Comes with spare key, and little owners manual.

Also available[4]: Official manual, Hagon fork springs, Promotive
stainless cans[5], original bars and screen. Probably some brake pads,
    too.

Downsides: tailpiece is cracked at front left mounting point. No
service history.[6] Usual scuffs and scratches for a 9 year-old bike.
Rear shock a little tired and emotional. Fine solo, but struggles
    two-up.[7]

Runs really well, but top-end rattle evident above 3k revs - probably
    needs the clearances looking at.

Let's start at £1500 as is ( or returned to stock) and £1750 for the
    lot.

    Any takers?

[1] Even agreed to getting luggage fitted to it.
    [2] Not really an issue.
[3] No lock at present, but will be fitted.
    [4] Possibly separately
    [5] VERY LOUD; nfru.
[6] Banjax did the 16k, and the oil's been changed every 4k.
[7] More like three-up with us two on it.

Not my cuppa tea, but my local mate Nobby's on the hunt for a Blackbird
of around that age. Do you mind if I pass details on to him after
everyone else on the group has had a chance?

I'm confused, AIUI he'd already told Bomber Bonwick to **** off, and
consequently didn't have to cross enemy lines.

Why is he faking copping a Blighty one?

Can you add to the insurance claim for my mental distress at having
started to talk T round to the idea that your Blackbird might be a
"sensible option" only to have that effort wasted?
