Fit the cables for the Intercom and GPS in preperation for the epic trek,
luckily the bike is fitted with Q/R fittings so removing the tank was a
simple 5 minute job. However I managed to nick one of the O rings when
pushing the fittings back together resulting in copious ammounts of fuel
    over the right hand pot.

So who does 11x1.75 O rings in North Beds on a bank holiday weekend?

Oooer ... can you temporarily replace the QD fittings with a long length
    of hose?

It doesn't want to. I pick up my new toy this evening and am hoping for
    an extended familiarization ride tomorrow.

Looks like the rain has got to you then.

TBH it is easier to get an O ring as it saves having to drain some 25 odd
litres of fuel out, the annoying thing is this was just an exploratory
mission in anticipation of the parts arriving next week.

Oh well, something else to add to the list of 'must carry' spares.
