The sound of a Jota..

I followed a 180 Jota for about 7 miles today on the way to work along some
cracking B-roads down through the 'Deverills' (Wilts/Dorset border). Just
like my old Jota I had a few years ago, this one had a 3-1 pipe with
'minimal restrictions'. Ridden pretty enthusaistically (for a 70's
twin-shock dinosaur), the sound of the Jota was simply astounding,
especially as the rider (a 40-50's bloke) was using the *full* rev range in
    2nd/3rd gears.
*Must* get myself another one again sometime.

Thus spake JB unto the assembled multitudes:
My neighbour's Benelli 900 Sei has similar pipes (6-2) and sounds pretty
mean. That's about all, though :)

Absolutely nothing sounds like a 180 Jota. Except maybe a Suzuki
GSX1100 with one spark plug missing.....

    Like **** I do!
I got shot of a T160V in order to get the cash for my old 180 Jota. I've
never been as happy to sell a bike as that piece of old shite (albeit one of
the nicest looking bikes I'v ever owned). Without question the most fragile
    engine I've had.

    :)

That was a Zane Laverda & they didn't really count. Indeed, some of the
    aficionados reckon they're weren't even proper Laverdas[1].

Whatever did happen with his Formula anyway? I was never very sure why
    he bought it - it wasn't a 2 smoke...

    Bob

[1] Mind you, by their logic a Commando wouldn't qualify as a proper
Norton, so what do they know...

AIUI there was a long, tragic nightmare of trenchant unreliability and
    expense - a sort of two-wheeled /Bleak House/...
