Glad I don't ride a tractor then. You'll piss off all the Harley
riders with comments like that :)

What exactly does that have to do with the cause?
Some speed limits should be raised, some should be lowered. The
current limits are irrelevant to me (other than avoiding tickets when
I choose to exceed them), I ride and drive according to the
conditions. My judgement has proven to be pretty good so far. Don't go
assuming that means I speed everywhere. I have no problem holding up
idiots behind me when I know it's not safe to do the limit.

  10. Same as you can blame the cause of the accident for ending up wheelchair
bound, but not blame the extra 20kph you were doing when everything went
    pear shaped.

Can you be a little bit more cryptic?

  14. Yeah, impact velocities are irrelevant when setting speed limits.
Velocity doesn't kill people, people kill people.

Since you won't explain wtf this means:
I'll just assume you're talking shit and ignore it

20K eh? Ok then, a driver travelling a 50kph goes to sleep & collides head
on with another doing 50k. That results in a 100kph impact...survivable????
Perhaps we should go back to when cars first appeared on public roads &
limit them all to a safer 10 mph thus giving you more time to notice those
    pesky lane splitting bikes?

  20. Presuming cars alswas impact at the velocity they were doing when things
went wrong, like the second driver is microsleeping.

In reality many accidents involve some washing off of speed before actuall
impact. So 2 cars head on at 50kph may loose 20kph each, making it 60kph
impact. I've been passenger in a car that stopped 6 inches short of a power
pole, yeah 20kph extra would have been fantastic fun in a 73 Falcon.

Tell me your chances are better or the same with both cars impacting at
70kph which gives you 140kph impact speed, not bad for 2 people running late
in a residential street. But then again speedings really any more dangerous
    is it?

Tell me then all the near misses & minor bingles you may have had in your
driving experience, you would not have cared if your vehicle & other
vehicles involved had been doing 20kph, because it's really safer.
