No it's not Texas but there might be a few left here who would like to
see a few pictures from your Northern Brothers.

OK here is a teaser from our Rocky Mountain Ride to Radium ride
    report.
    http://www.actualriders.ca/road_to_radium.htm

It will be a few days before the page will be finished but this
outline will give you an idea of how well the weekend went and see a
few pictures of the BC interior and the Rocky Mountains.

A group from Alberta and Saskatchewan gathered just outside of Calgary
to complete the three hour ride to Radium. It must have been a big
riding weekend because there had to have been over a hundred bikes
meeting at the Humpties heading in a variety of directions Friday
    morning.

I met a few from the CMA I had ridden with before. They were on their
way to Kelowna. A bunch of my Northern Stars buddies were going to the
Three Rivers Meet in Kamloops and our gang was on our way to Radium.

Unfortunately one rider from Cold Lake had a mechanical problem just
as they arrived at the restaurant. His front suspension appeared to
lose all of the normal resistance. As he entered the parking lot it
went into a minor tank slapper. We tried to find a dealer or a
mechanic that might be able to get him back on the road with no
success. He arranged for his daughter to come get him.

The web pages hit on most of the highlights of the weekend. All I can
add is it is great to take these on line relationships and turn them
into real life friendships. I met folks I have known from a couple of
different forums for the first time, renewed friendships from others I
have had the pleasure of riding with before and met a whole bunch of
    riders for the first time.

Many participate in these forums only for the online experience and
while there is much to be gained from that, there is infinitely more
to be gained by turning the online experience into a real life one.

I would encourage everyone to get on that bike and take in one of the
many meet & greets that are organized online.

    NEXT STOP MOAB

Take the time and join us. I promise you will have a good time.

As an aside the charging system on the Venture finally cratered on
Sunday. After one stop it failed to start and my fancy schmancy five
function voltmeter was reading seven volts. Not enough to engage the
    starter.

After a bump start I had enough power to limp the big machine back to
the Bavaria. I put the battery on a charger, but it was toast. Much to
my surprise I was able to find a new battery in Invermere. Not bad for
a Sunday. So after picking it up, along with a trickle charger to
power it up, I had enough electrical power to run the motor for the
ride home, although I had to pull the fuses for everything cept the
    brake lights and signal lights.

So I have a little mechanical work to do before Moab.

Excellent ride report, Don! And the scenery pics are breathtaking.
That looks like a lot of fun had by all and you did real good, in the prize
department. Must be some fine retailers there.

As always, thanks for sharing with us folks, here in the south.
    :)

The mountains will always be there but the engineers are working
overtime trying to take the hills and curves out of the roads.
