The weather report this morning, has got some rain in the forecast..
Due to the drought conditions and the extremely dry year that we've
already been through, that should be good news ..

However, the ones who've planned and executed rides for this weekend
are on the road and looks like they'll be caught on the highway, trying to
get back home.. Wherever you are, guys.. get an early enough start to ensure
you'll be safely in the house before the rain hits..

Comes to mind.. Redshad is on another run in Mena, Ark.. From the weather
map, Mena just might be a bit unpleasant this weekend.. Those roads are very
hazardous during precipitation of any kind.. Snow, sleet or rain causes
    those
highways to become something like greased surfaces, especially after the dry
seasons we've had.. Leave early and ride safe, Redshad.. I'll be thinking
    about
    you and your crew.. Regards

Thanks Bill..We all made it home safe and sound and wet. Its was a very
busy weekend in Mena. All the motels were book solid. I started hunting
us three rooms last week. All of the hotels there will NOT do a waiting
list anymore so you just have to keep calling and calling in hopes that
someone cancelled and your right there to get the room. I got lucky on
Friday morning and got us the three rooms. I got one of them because
the people didnt secure the room with a credit card and time had
expired on them. Let that be a lesson..secure your room with a credit
card if your not going to be there on time.

We watched the weather all day Friday and decided we might should make
Saturday just a day run. One of the guys that went with me was all for
staying until Sunday so between he and I , we talked the others into
staying. We left early Saturday morning and went up thru Paris, Antlers
and into Talahena. We rode the Talimena Highway all the way to Mena
stopping at damn near every senic turnout so they could take pictures
and check it over. Two of the couples that went had never been on that
ride so it was a real treat for them. The colors havent started
changing just yet but they are close. Everything was still green and
pretty. It was clear as a bell so you could see for miles.

We arrived at the Sun Country Inn about dark and we got all checked
into our rooms. We didnt eat at the Lodge as planned because they were
really busy with a couple of weddings that were taking place. I decided
we would all go to the Chopping Block Steak House. All the meals except
one were excellent. One lady ordered the ribs and they sucked. After
everyone was full, we went back to our rooms and crashed.

Sunday morning it rained real early. I walked outside and the rain had
stopped so I started drying my bike off. As soon as I got it all dried
off, it started sprinkling rain again. We got everyone rounded up and
decided to head home. We rode out of Mena to highway 8 and to I-30. We
took the highway 19 exit and headed to Emory to drop one of the riders
off. All the other riders lived in Edgewood. We got rained on several
times on the way home but nothing so hard that it forced us to pull off
    the road.

    Good ride it was.

I do believe it was..We saw alot of the CMA riders there. Someone said
something about the changing of the gaurds or something else. I think
it represents the changing of the colors or something. I dont really
know and I didnt stick around to find out what that was all about.

You should ride up here and we will go pay that feller in FW a visit
and you can school him on the proper way to write up a good ride
    report. Whatcha think?

I admire you for riding back with a new bunch of friends. Were they
    working buddies?
In the past we have rode to the CMA rally a coupla times, but these
past weekends, I have had certain enjoyabel engagements to make.
We are planning to invade ya'lls area, either in November or next
    February.
I have this hankering to meet Sunny, dont know why, but she sounds like
someone I'd like to meet, justa way I am. Not to mention ride in that
area, I forgot what it is called as I type.
I just thought it's Possum Kingdom, and that Dinasour place, what cha'
    ma' callit..

The folks that went were friends of mine from 20 years ago and my uncle
and his wife. My uncle still remained friends with them and I moved off
and got married up. This is the first time in 20 years that we all had
motorcycles at the same time. We figured we better get a ride in now
before someone sells or gets there bike repoed or crashed.

You should go meet Sunny and Joe..Bill Walker says they are good
people. Make sure she knows your comming so she can cook you up a fat
T-Bone steak with all the fixins. Glenrose is the place with the
dinosaurs. Be sure and go thru the park there and check out the tracks.
Its a neat place to visit. Then ride on over to Hico for a piece of
    pie.
