Well, quite, but it's just somewhere half-decent[1] for a few beers
prior to going to Chutney Mary.

Could've been worse. Could've been the Groucho.

    Or the Colony Room (RIP).

And **** me, never again! Even the Sloaney Pony clientele were never
as up their own arses as the people in there at 7pm on Friday evening.
I haven't been in a pub that made me feel as stabby for a long time.

    Some nice MILFs though.

I could suggest pubs that might drive the likes of you to actual
    physical violence.

Ever been in the Shoreditch Electricity Showrooms?

And you'd have *loved* The Foundry, pity it closed last year.

But hey, Bar Kick is still going

And, the piece of resistance, so is dreambagsjaguarshoes:

  6. 40 years ago it was, during the time when it was my problem to fix the
bits of the computer traffic light linking system thing that would now be
dismissed and defined as street furniture in west london. The nature of
the job was such that it involved many idle minutes waiting for the
machine to do it's thing in order that I could better find where to aim
the effects of 2 seconds of corrective hammer. In many ways I feel sorry
for you kiddies who will never see the like of the see through bra in a
public place in numbers in the summer ever again but that is what you get
for thinking of the children. Remember it like it was yesterday I do.

My main watering hole when I worked up in St Martins Lane getting on
    for four years ago.

Always a good choice of ales, and never had a badly kept pint in there
    yet.

Nice one in the summer too if you can get a seat right at the front.

I also used to frequent The Salisbury just round the corner in St
Martins Lane - they usually had a few half decent ales on tap.

If you fancy going further afield, The Barrow Boy and Banker next to
London Bridge station is a Fullers Pie and Ale House, and they've
always got a nice selection of on tap ales as well as a great
selection of pies - what's not to like! :-D

Well they didn't make anything iron or steel at the Foundry did they.
The bricklayers was, as I seem to recall[1] somewhere within staggering
    distance of the Foundry.

[1] Hazily as it seems :)
