The plan this week....

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Aug 4, 2009.

  1. Is to use a different vehicle each day of the working week for my
    commute.

    So today it was the Street Trip, yesterday the 400 Four, tomorrow the
    Duke, then the K, and on Friday the car (got so lift a bookcase, so an
    ideal opportunity).

    Variety is the spice of life.

    I could do alternate days with the Sprint and my R100RT but now I know how
    shite the BMW really is I can't be arsed.

    Hmmm. Well I _could_ join you in the principle, but it'd now mean
    cycling in three days running, and using the old old MTB on one of
    them.

    Perhaps not. I'll be cycling in on the Mercian tomorrow anyway (if the
    weather's OK) but I don't think three days, at 50km per day, is really
    do-able just yet.

    Easy.

    Monday: holiday (riding MTB);
    Tuesday: lift to work in car;
    Wednesday: Falco;
    Thursday: cycling (road bike);
    Friday: Elefant.
    So: motorbike, motorbike, motorbike, motorbike, car.
    Not too much variety, though. Don't want to overdo it.

    Monday: GSXR1000
    Tuesday: GSXR1000
    Wednesday: GSXR1000
    Thursday: WFH
    Friday; GSXR1000

    Far preferable to taking the car or cycling.

    This would be better the other way round surely?
    I take the car more often than not these days. It's only 20 mins now
    schools are out and that's quicker than using the bike by the time I've
    factored in getting my gear on/off, unlocking/locking garage and
    getting the bike in and out.

    Monday: couldn't get the MV up the stairs.
    Tuesday: couldn't get the Tiger up the stairs.
    Today: couldn't get t'other Tiger up the stairs.
    Tomorrow: won't be able to get the Corvette up the stairs.
    Friday: /might/ be able to get the Fantic up the stairs.

    WFH on Thursday means I can duck out at 5.30 and be at Earls Court about
    15 minutes later.

    You may have a point about not riding the thou to work on Friday though.
    Maybe I'll use the RGV instead.
    Different logic applies in zone 1 though.

    Not traffic-wise, IME. Thursdays are the new Fridays, especially at
    going home time.

    I wasn't alluding to traffic. I was alluding to the state of ogden's
    head on Friday morning.

    You're right.

    I'll definitely take the RGV instead.
