Last hospital appointment was on Friday, knee healing well, but a
little fluid on it, fractured elbow still won't straighten, but its
    much better.

Now I am under attack from Mum and Wife, to sell the bikes. Wife
suggests I could get a Lotus 7 type kit car. So I agreed that when I
found a fast enough kit car I could fit in[1], I will sell the bikes.

Anyway, anyone got a spare set of MX style bars and an ignition
switch, or just the housing, suitable for the GS550M?
What's the best way of repairing scuffed leather?
Any XL Vemar VXN's going cheep?

[1] By past experience, I doubt I'll find a unmodified one with enough
    leg room ;o)

Having seen the state of the leathers half the R6 cup guys were wearing
yesterday, if the stitching's not burst yet, they're fine.....

Depends how bad it is. Will it pass the scrutineers with a sticker over
    the scuff?

I could polish them out [1], but I still don't know what happened to
    the visor.

[1] may need the angle grinder.

Non destuctive testing for dropped lids?

I wonder what percentage come back with

'we recommend you replace this lid at vast expense would you like to see
our new range of poshly painted ones?'

The service is free of charge IIRC, what you pay for is the carriage of
helmet to and from their offices.

Not alot come back as scrap, surprisingly. I sent quite a few back for
testing when I ran HG shops and I'd say only one in five came back as
    scrap.

This was due in some part to us looking the lid over first. Some people
would be quite willing to waste 25 quid sending a helmet that had
obvious cracks and chunks missing for testing. We made a point of
suggesting that only helmets that didn't have glaringly obvious damage
be sent, otherwise Phoenix may withdraw the service as it was being
    abused by timewasters.

There are a few bigger kit cars. There's the LV or something version of the
Caterham, and the Luego is a bit bigger. Think the MK indy might be too.

Fair enough. I'm interested in how they do the non-destructive testing
    though.

I'm led to believe they have an ultrasound device of some variety.

Clever. My carbon based lid could do with a check ;-)

Nava carbon kevlar. Heavy as **** but has the gold coloured sticker on.
If I send it down, could you give it the once over and get it tested for
    me?

Sorry squire, the testing service Phoenix offer is only available to
Arai owners. Somewhere in the FAQ there's details of another mob you can
contact direct who offer the same service at a cost.

I would suspect some sort of bondtester, e.g Fokker bond-tester (resonant
ultrasonics). Normal pulse-echo ultrasonics require the use of a couplant
which may make proper inspection a bit tricky.
Either way, a reference test piece would be required with some sort of
    calibration defect(s).

SWK. Well my old nava won't be that common to have a crashed example lying
about so I'll just jump on it and if it doesn't break, I'll use it again
    :)
