You forget I grew up in outer Boganville... even with a tertiary
education and the ability to use words longer than 'beer... tits... and
caww... that's a bit of alright' I still feel a cultural imperative to
wear my native blue singlet, shorts and thongs on occasion. Although I
keep the flannies for special occasions these days (hung next to the
    business suits). [1]

[1] I still can't bring myself to wear a white singlet though :)

Depends on the season... : )
I find 3 pair of each sufficient and I don't wear singlets. I can wash 'em
where I'm staying or if I'm in unfriendly territory I can slip into a
    laundromat.
It's a Bagster. Or was. I killed it...

I might wear a Jackie Howe in Summer but t-shirts are America's equivalent
of the singlet. To wear both together would be like wearing jocks with
    y-fronts over the top...

Don't you people get cold riding in 2 degrees C without as many layers
    of clothes as possible?
*impressed look* that takes some doing...

I know where you're coming from, I used to carry a 3 man tent, airbed,
sleeping bag, tools, wax cottons, spare pairs of jeans, shoes, shirts, cold
weather clothing, photography and video equipment, tripod, hydraulic jack,
spare tubes, tyre irons and patches, K-Y, a dunny roll, thermos etc...
http://tinyurl.com/azsry and of course the T595 can't carry anywhere near
that so some attitude modification was needed.

But now I'm older I like the hot shower, coffee, TV, If I need to wash my
smalls I can use the bathroom sink and I like the real bed that I can have a
    wank in.

And to get the bead out of the old rim we had to stand on it and jump up and
    down.

Ah, you Queenslanders. You're meant to wear jumpers _over_ your shirt.
    Hope that helps,

I'd rather being wearing polypro longs than a cotton singie, thanks
    all the same :)

I haven't worn one since I left home at 18 and my mum could no longer make
    me.
I'm closer to 70 than you, but still under.

I tend to go with the singlet (grey) and a heated vest on those rides.

The last time I got a bit cold was riding at -6 degrees C, on the K1100LT
with heated grips and a heated vest.

    About 19,000km, but I followed a slightly non-standard route:

I went through 2 rear tyres and 1 front, they're not all that hard to
get replaced if you visit the occasional major city.

Nahh; one of the triple-rotated, inside-out jocks escaped it's baggie and
    the fumes melted the bindings!
    Clem
    .......and it's still out there.......
