The "new" speeding suggestions

    Don't seem very new to me, other then the 2 points instead of 3 (but I bet
    the fine stays at £60).

    The current system had a sliding scale from 3 points to ban - as the new one
    does.

    And as for the police federation, IMO I really think they scored an own
    goal there - if they'd just said "a camera can't catch a dangerous driver"
    rather
    then going on about "a policeman has descretion blah blah"..

    Perhaps they were losing too much income through the totting up
    policy.
    The dangerous driver angle is one that JP advocates.

    1.5 million tickets issued - it must mean _someone_ is getting banned.

    Still, now they can get 50% more revenue before people get banned - much
    better.
    And it makes sense.
