The mum got off lightly

Dirty 'orrible weather, minding my own business in a stream of traffic
going up past Kegworth - the very embankment the plane crashed on a
couple of years later - I was sitting in lane 3, slightly to the left of
it, as you do, when I saw the driver of the small van in front of me
duck down and fiddle about. The van wandered over to the right, dropped
one wheel off the tarmac and sprayed gravel up. He pulled it out of the
gravel and back onto the tarmac, but failed to moderate the force
    enough.
The van swerved mightily over all three lanes, magically managed to miss
everthing, shot up the embankment, doors flying open, gear being flung
out of it and turned over about three times. I fucked off up to the next
emergency phone and called it in, but there was no way I could get back
down to see what the outcome was.
