    heh.

If it had, say, Sky One[1], E4, and a couple of decent music channels,
    I'd consider it.

[1] though, sadly, the only things I ever watch on Sky One are
Stargate SG-1 and "Malcolm in the Middle".

If you find an old ITV digital box on eBay, or buy one of the newer Pace
boxes, you can get "Top-up TV" for £7 a month which gives you a couple of
    extra channels

    http://www.topuptv.co.uk/html/channels.htm

Rumours in the industry abound that sooner or later the owners will sell out
to $ky, so Sky 1 might come along fairly shortly

    That's because:

    a) They're *always* on the gas (and nobody ever lost the front when on
    the gas ...

    b) No fucking pheasants ;-)

  4. Oh look I'm agreeing with this as well. Especially when the wet weather
merchants lap the other Moto GP riders.
Oh absolutely - definitely a key part of the show. It's like sitting
with old friends having a natter. They've got a really good broadcasting
    style - IMHO, of course.

We have broadband and could have digital TV. They just bundle the analogue
TV base pack into the student phone package. The base pack channels aren't
encrypted anyway, so they are just legitimating what many people do [1] if
they have an NTL cable coming into the house for phone/internet.

Being able to get English Channel 4 and BBC2 as well as Sky1, E4, Eurosport
& News24 for no extra charge is a bonus. As we can tune the TV & video into
the analogue signal we can watch channelA whilst watching channelB too.

[1] tune their TV into the analogue signal on the cable

I have Sky and I turn over o the BBC for motogp after the 125s, and 250s,
which the Beeb don't show. This is because Sky is interrupted by hideously
annoying idents, adverts and crap ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Not only is it
irritating but you miss loads of action. Shame about losing the commentary
but do you really need it to know what's going on in the Big Boys Race?

It was really strange at the circuit. Just about every spaniard wanted
Rossi to win. All the t shirts on sale were Rossi. There was no sign of
support for Sete anywhere. However, riding back home, the streets were
lined with people waving spanish flags at us. Dunno what they thought
after I went past sporting english matrícula (number plate).

Didn't see any of you buggers there...

That´s one good thing about the telly here. During the adverts, you can
still see the race in a window at the top left of the screen. Bit titchy
    mind.

I don't mind the adverts - they're just long enough to do a circuit of the
house via the toilet & fridge.

I actually watch very little TV, but my step-sons watch a **** load of
old crap on the likes of Toonami, Kerrang, and MTVn(whichever has all
    the nu-metal shite on).
