I just caught the end of the highlights on Eurosport, not very action
packed for a wet race really, was it? I'm glad I wasn't at home to
    watch it now.

Whatever happened to the carnage. I was waiting for the destruction as 2
riders rub fairings into the corner, then bounce through the gravel
trap.. and NOTHING! Don't they read the script anymore?

On the plus side, it looks like Rossi is going to have to work hard for
    a win this year.

Did you see Rossi's highside? He did well to recover it. Bet he's got some
swollen bollocks today. This was about the only interesting thing in the
    race.

  3. well the battle for 3rd and 4th place in the 250s was fairing bashing
    fun.
Indeed - I think Max Biaggi is one to watch. Provided he keeps his cool
he might just be the consistent rider that racks up the points steadily.
He's certainly looking much happier and more content that he has done in
a long long time and it's showing in the results.

Ahh mised that part, I caught about the last 5 laps, then switched the
    TV off again.

What did he have to say for himself in the end of race interviews? Was
he simply taking no chances and collecting the 20 points?

  6. Due to the bloody Italian footie coming on they axed the formal
interviews at the end. Randy Mamola did catch a last few words with Max
before the programme ended and he said he had settled for a safe 20
points when it was clear he stood no chance of catching Sete.

I think Rossi decided to just make it home in one piece - as he entered
the garage he made a sign to the camera indicating the bike was spinning
    up all the time.

It was interesting that the other Yamahas seemed to be making more of an
effort in this race - perhaps they are under pressure given that Rossi
has shown the M1 can win?

    If you weren't such a part-timer you'd have watched the 125s and 250s which
were action-packed including the most unlikely crash save I've seen inn and
plenty of unsaved ones. If you want to see fairing-banging and nasty
manouvres you watch the "little" bikes.

There was a good bit of dicing between Biaggi and Gibernau for the lead
early on, but after a while Biaggi clearly decided discretion was the
better part of valour and settled for second.

Depends, I enjoyed it from the POV of how amazingly fast they still manage
to go, despite it raining buckets.

Not to mention the amount of lean etc - I know they're on race tyres, on a
track etc etc, but it's still something
    I find impressive.

I've started putting my pennies towards Sky though as the BBC commentary and
    Suzi Perry [1]are just
    plain annoying.

[1] Yes yes, but personally, okay(ish) to look at, but doesn't half waffle
    on with some crap.

Yeah, I agree - GB Eurosport's commentary is almost as enjoyable as the
    racing.
Julian Ryder & Toby Moody's commentary is very infectious and Randy Mamola's
access-all-areas credibility pretty much guarantees the best pit-lane
    interviews.

  14. Every time I catch bikes on telly where Steve Parrish is commentating
its usually not more than about 30 seconds before he mentions
something about 'Tapping the power on' and '180bhp through a contact
patch the size of a credit card'. He loves it. And his mate, the
Aussie sounding geezer, seems addicted to saying 'Not in the script'.

Still, even worse is the BBC WSBK commentator who shouts louder than
    SWMBO.

  16. Shouldve seen the last third of the 125's. A huge puddle/river at one
corner highsided about 2 riders per lap. Including the leaders.

I think Rossi had more rear grip problems than the other front
runners. He was lucky to stay on (unlike his team mate Melandri).

One thing I have to comment on about all the GP wet races, was that
every crash I saw was due to losing the rear. No-one lost the front
    which I find interesting.
