The Most Ignorant Question You Will Hear Today

  1. Hi all,

So. Um. In the movie Top Gun, Tom Cruise has this bike. A guy who
is a friend of mine has the exact same bike, and he's really proud of
    that fact.

He's probably told me nine times what the make and model are, but for
the life of me, I can't remember.

What was it? Speak slowly, I'm a natural blonde.

1985 Kawasaki GPz900R Ninja. I had the same bike way back then, only
in silver and red and I didn't put all those silly stickers on it.

  3. Dear Mark,

Thank you for answering and for speaking slowly. I just got fired
from my job at the M&M factory for throwing out all the "W" candies,
so my brain works better on the slow track.

    (heh heh)

    Yer the best!

I hope at least your friend actually rides HIS bike... more than can be said
for Peewee Herman, er, I mean, Tom Cruise.

"When Maverick is driving his motorcycle along the runway with the planes
taking off, you can see the bed of the truck he's atop at the bottom of the
    screen."

Keep in mind that this bike is woefully out dated by today's standards. Even
when new it was a poor handling bike with lousy carburation. There's little
reason to be proud of this bike today.

  7. Was it so much worse than the competition? The Ninja 900 was also a
ground-breaking bike, in that it was dramatically lighter than any other
900-1000cc bikes of the era. It started the first power/weight wars in
that category, which really didn't see a dramatic change in performance
and size until the original CBR900RR ("Fireblade") was released.
