    about 600 quid.
"how long is a piece of string". You can knock together a perfectly
acceptible PC for 400 quid, but the rackmount servers I have here at
work cost 10K Euros each (I have 6).
    fairly normal for around here.

  4. Is an acceptable PC + decent monitor really only 400 quid now?

servers are just silly money though. That I do know.

  10. How about this, true cos it happened to me, scenario:

I buy a CD, take it home, put it in the iMac to convert it to MP3, then
put it in my bag to take to work the next day where I can listen to it.
The bag gets stolen. I haven't even listened to the CD yet. Can I now
listen to the MP3s? Are they mine?

I'll keep watching out for black helicopters, shall I?

Didn't you once write software (games?) and sold it yourself (Your
Computer?). What would your reaction be if it was still being hawked
round the 'net as Mame type thing, or still being sold?
I'll support, and have done, the smaller software producers. I've even
written letters to freeware authors thanking them, but the strangely I
have no moral alarm bells ringing with a piece of large corporation
    'bent' software.

It's a bit like fare dodging, OK with Virgin[1] but not the Bluebell[2].

[1] It's a big faceless corp and the products so buggy anyway they
    should pay us...
[2] They're small time enthusiasts and try so hard..

  14. or even:-

Well it is a bit different. Say I had pinched some of your code. If I
look at it to "have a try" you wouldn't know. It does not affect you in
any way, other than unknown to you, I might purchase it. If I stole your
bike you would notice straight away, as you can't copy a bike...

  15. Some companies release their keys and key-generators onto the internet.
Although the said company will not admit to this they sure as hell know
that it will give them a sales advantage over the competition as all the
university grads. will have a copy of said software and be conversant in
    its usage...

Did someone help you write this? You see, it has no spelling or grammar
errors, and hasn't got your trademark pathetic affection - substituting
    "ewe" for "you".

But they do pose a particular dilemma, in that reducing their income is
arguably A Good Thing - and piracy is the most straightforward way of
    achieving this.

Even Pikeymarkets knock out something 1/2 decent for that money these
