Looking at some of the weather sites, we probably shouldn't go later than
early-to-mid October. An autumnal trundle through France and Spain would be
    seriously mellow...

Tax, MOTed, insured, and I've just been out and started it - fired first
    press of the button.
I was thinking about late September/early October this year, but if I'm
lucky I'll be seriously busy around that time. Next Spring would be good.
Thornbury to Veggiefest: 150 miles, over 5 hours, 30mpg. Grim death through
the twisties with a car up my arse. Long inclines at 35mph, flat out in
third. At some point during that weekend, I realised that I had no further
territorial ambitions of a chariot nature. Plus, you load the fucker up to
the gunwales just because you can, and a little extra ballast won't do any
harm, and end up carrying tons of unnecessary junk.
    Excellent.

Would the Harley be allowed on the basis that it's unsuitable,
unreliable and a mere 72 cubic imperial units?

It may also be worth considering how much it'll do to the gallon. I'd
    suggest 4 stroke and Jap.

I'm going East German and 2 stroke. Tally Ho!

Bantam? Feel free, but I have a strange yearning for either a Yamaha
YB100 or a Honda H100. OTOH, if 250s are allowed, I may try and find a
    running Super Dream.

    C15, you coward.

Super Dreams are too sensible. 100s are probably too slow.
