hah - you're far too old to be considered "nouvelle vague".

I'll grant you "bossa nova" at a push, mind.

See, this is your problem right here.
Reclaimed mahogany, cleaned up, cut to fit, nailed down and sanded flat.
For under a grand, I got enough wood to do the extension floor (24' x 13'),
the hall and the downstairs loo. Seven years later, it was still solid and
looked fabulous. Why **** around with plasticky shit?

have you started making a note of the percentage of cars you see that
are a particular colour? That's never a good sign. Unless they're red
    or yellow, of course!!!

Anyway - it you feel like living dangerously - if she claims again
that your "Aspergers" is getting worse, just tell her something along
the lines of "Cognitive behavioral therapy might help /me/ but it
won't make /you/ look any younger".

Actually, don't try this - the suicide rate in the west midlands is
    bad enough already.

a tight board's good, but don't try sex wax on bamboo - wrong type of
board; Mr Zog wasn't right about everything.

if you're trying to associate with the "cool" that surrounded '60s
French cinema, you've failed. Except maybe with "L'Annee Dernier a
Marienbad". - that'd probably suit you. Now, me, it'd definitely be
"Jour pour Nuit" (OK, so that's '70s, sue me)
I wouldn't be at all susprised if you still listened to the likes of
    King Crimson.

While I remember, those Stewart Lee tickets are now paid for. 11 quid
    each.

****. I was thinking about the last one. When's this one again[1]?

[1] as in remind me again, not some retro-futurist deja vu thing.

    I wouldn't dream of it.

I found a place today which really knew it's stuff and has proper joiners at
    sensible money
