Picked up the new ST2 on saturday and had a nice run down the Geelonf
Freeway till it filled up with toursit traffic about 10 ks out of Geelong,
so went via Corio and out on the Hamilton hwy. Then took a couple of back
roads to Colac and went through to Warrnenbool, where I found the Motels
charging $150 per night, see rode through to Mortlake and stayed at the pub
    for $25.
Then sunday came back to Rye via Geelong and the ferry.
I found the bike to be a little different to get use to but I only stalled
it twice at the dealers so all was ok, dry clutch a bit grabby??? LOL but
once I got use to it I found the bike goes like the shit of a hot shovel and
just eats corners as if it hates them, a little more sporty then the VN I
    thinks.
Now has 500+ks and am loving it, except for one thing does the seat get
softer or does my arse and scotum grow into it?????

well worth the extra 1/2 hr ride to Mortlake, long as you are not after a
    night life.
Spet my youth growing up in that lively little town.

Gees mate, that's a bit extreme. He's just bought an ST2 fer ferk's sake -
should be enough to keep him happy for a while.

Oh, might I add that a sheepskin rug could be useful in assisting the
well-being and comfort of your delicate bits. :)

    Cheers,

P.S. The missus and I often did 800+ km days and though we were a bit sore
in the arsey regions you do get used to it. All in all it's a very
comfortable bike - at least for us it was.

Hey Lushy (or is that "Lucky"??),

Nice one and glad you're happy. Lisa and I very much enjoyed our ST2 (while
we had it) and wish you many miles of joy.

If you're going to do any 2-up work, have a go at upping the rear preload
and just feel the immediate increase in steering response. Took my breath
away - amazing what a ~1deg change in rake will do.

Another thing - I took the advice of a very experienced ST2 owner and put a
916 front sprocket on the bike - 1 less cog. Washed a tiny bit of top speed
off (only really important on the main straight of a racing circuit near
you) but completely transformed the bike - much smoother around town, much
torquier take-offs and better get-away zip and better overall rev control.
Another very cheap (~$60) but highly positive change to the character of the
    beast. Couldn't recommend it more.

If you're used to a 4, you will have the odd stall with the V-twin. In
fact, I almost dropped a new ST4s on a testride that stalled on takeoff
around a very angled corner into traffic when I was looking to replace the
ST2 - damned thing had a blat fattery. (Cheers Anne!!)

Anyway, have fun and enjoy that beautiful handling Italian orchestra that
sits below your aching cods... you will get used to the seat :)

    Cheers,

P.S. Need a spare set of red panniers???
