I've decide the pink Tiger's definitely going, but haven't decided what
to replace it with yet. It's used for:

    1. 170 mile round trip commute (but only once a month, give or take).
    2. Blatting to warmer climes, 2 up with packed out topbox, panniers &
    tank bag.
    3. Visits to client sites, which can be anywhere from 20 to 230 miles
    away.
    4. Weekend fun when the weather's too shitty to take the MV.
    5. 'Soft' roading (mainly the gravel tracks on Salisbury Plain).

The reason the Tiger's not scratching the itch is simply because it's
not fun enough. Its use is mainly practical, but it needs to put a grin
on my face at the same time, & the Tiger's power-to-weight ratio isn't
up to that (hence the attempted engine swap).

So what should I get? The soft-roading can be removed from the list as
the RatTig fills that hole. A Benelli Tre-K is top of the list, but I'm
out of touch with t'other options, not having bought any motorcycle
    rags for years. Inspire me.

If it wasn't for 2) I would say Morini Corsaro 1200. Pillion seat not
very generous and possibly no hard luggage option.

    2) does rather rule it out, as does 3) I suspect. If I was going for
something of that ilk, it'd be a Brutale.

    Not enough comfort/weather protection for 2) & 3), & I suspect not
enough poke to fulfil the fun factor.

  10. What is the appeal of this thing? I think it looks hideous, especially
    that abortion of an exhaust.

Hmm - a supercharged 1200 Stelvio would be quite nice.

I managed to throw all 3 of my ZZR1100s around quite nicely, as many
here will testify, and I am nowhere near what you'd call a big bloke. I
was smaller built then as well.

A good 25bhp at least down on the Tre-K, & a bit too challenging in the
    height department.

I should probably have added 'no de-tuned 4 cylinder UJMs' to the
criteria. In fact make that 'no 4 cylinder UJMs - period'.
