Yeah, I've switched the website over to my Mac, and this is what we call
'teething troubles' (mainly caused by my creating a subdomain to
'coughlan.fr' which fucked up the main domain. It should be fixed in
ten minutes or so when the changes to DNS propagate).
    Dunno.

Thanks for those. Having goldsmith ancestors from Brum I should have
    remembered about the jeweller's loupe.

I was hoping for a definitive picture of the particular poisson.

The answer will be to look out for it in the local market or on the slab
at Casino or Super-U on my next trip. The catfish has an ugly mug [1]
completely unlike the streamlined Bass [2](although I suspect it may
only be found already filleted if the catfish variant).

    'European' Bass.

Other googling suggests that Loup de Mer is also used for the catfish
    thing.

WGAF? Well it could literally have something to do with the price of
fish. How would Bear know what he is getting if he orders the 'Loup de
    Mer' in a restaurant?

Next time I find it on the menu I will make a point of having it and
attempt to ask the pertinent question.

    Different kettle contents entirely.

However, so far as this one is concerned there seems to be even more
variations in English than French. Sodding confusing to say the least.
