I find your argument unconvincing. We did it to death last time and
all you did was chuck up a smokescreen of obfications before beating a
hasty retreat. Anyone attempting to deconstruct your crap has to do
it by exposing logical fallacy after logical fallacy ad nauseam, which
you then dismiss as going on and on and on.

So if bullshit wins, you win.

Ah, now I get it - "Global Financial Crisis". Not very catchy, is it?

I suspect that sometime in the next 12-18 months the expression
"Greater Depression" might be getting a bit of use.

Fairly unlikely, it's untrue as there's little likelihood of this
downturn exceeding the impact of the 1930's or 1890's downturns; it
also fails the catchy phrase test (doesn't roll off the tongue)

Great Recession is quite likely - I've heard a few people use that in
    the media now.

The scooter belonged to the company and, while someone else was using
it, had an oil-pump failure. that was terminal.
Well yes, but not one I can drive atm.

Do you really think so? Maybe it's just my natural pessimism at work,
but I'm not going to be surprised if we outdo the 1930s experience.
What's uncatchy about "Greater Depression"? C'mon, throw me a bone
    here! ;-)
    Now that just sounds silly!

Let's just set a benchmark. As of today, Googling for the phrase
"greater depression" produces 97,100 hits. I'll check back again in a
    year. ;-)

Forget about a year, this is only after a couple of hours

    Results 1 - 10 of about 14,700,000 for greater depression. (0.60 seconds)

  18. fucking hell nev, can't you read ??

BT said he searched for "greater depression" and had 97,100 hits
I searched two hours later for the same "greater depression" and got
    14,700,000 hits

Seems to be the same argument / discussion to me

No, I'm afraid Nev's right (gasp!)

I said to search for the *phrase*. What both you and Andrew have done
is search for 2 distinct words. If you surround the words in double
quotes in the Google search box you get:

    "greater depression" - 77,500
    "great recession" - 693,000

So my horse is well behind, and in fact is falling back at the rate of
    about 7,000 hits per hour!

The Ministry Of Truth must be onto me!
