The Glorious Season to Ride

I watched the beautiful sunrise, this morning.. Sitting on the porch,
sipping a steaming, rich cup of coffee and just enjoying another fine day,
as it develops.. Stillness of the morning, watching squirrels play, the city
sounds are quiet and peaceful.. Time for that second cup of coffee..

The green Vulcan is staring at me, resentfully .. through those headlights..
As I sit here and enjoy, reflections also flood my mind.. I can hear the
roar and rumble, as others pass on the surrounding streets.. Those bikers
are going somewhere, that I'd surely like to be..

Some of my memories cause a tear in my eyes, but most just make me smile as
I recall all the times that have been shared by so many.. Times past and
gone, but not forgotten . Memories are precious.. Thank God for them..
The ghosts of the ones who've gone before us are perhaps, most precious to
us.. They are still amongst us in these memories.. The good times and not so
good times, sustain and refresh us..

The future years ahead of us are also very important.. after all, one cannot
live in the past.. That green Vulcan will roar to life many more times..
We'll chase that highway to the end, again.. The smell of the leathers,
gasolene and heated rubber will flood our senses and we'll be invincible..
As the cold, early morning air, rushes around us, we'll again be "king of
the road".. And.. as ever, those ghosts of long gone friends will be with
us..They'll protect us from harm and direct us as we ride..

There's no point or issue being made in this thread.. Just thoughts that I
may share on this newsgroup.. Maybe not.. Now it's done and I will go back
to the third cup of coffee.. Ride well and stay safe..

  2. Well, Bill Walker, I enjoyed your thoughts.
It's nice to, now and then, make some comments that are just plain ole'
    friendly.
Like you just did.<> When I got home after the 31/2 days in the
hospital. I walked around my happy home's porch, and actually said out
loud.."thank you. God above"........one good thing about getting older,
and that's '' knowing when to appreciate the simple things of life". And
your friendly Post explained (Just) That!
<> I know it must be hard for ya, having to be alittle bit
imMobile....I'm talking not being able to get out and do what ever the
heck ya wanna, till the Doc says. ya can
<>I see my Doc monday 11-08, to see when I can Drive, Ride, and swing a
    club..
my Honey has been escorting me around.
<>you'll be saddling up on that Vulcan, in no-ime......NG Pal......

Many thanks for the kind words.. JailCall.. Next saturday, on the 13th, I
believe.. TMRA II is hosting their state advisors meeting again.. Same place
and same time, as I understand it..

Provided the good Lord is willing, I expect to be there.. If you and the
IceMan can make it, I'd sure like to see your smiling faces along with
Superfly Silverman.. Should be interesting, as the topics will include the
agenda and strategy for the upcoming Legislative Session..in January..
