Aren't statistics wonderful things. Another couple of years and they
will have enough numbers to tell us what banks they prefered.

Left handers are my 'best' corners. Don't know why though. Might be a
    Guzzi thing..

Ah, so it's the road design fault.

Stupid place to put a left hander, at the end of a straight bit.

Huh. Now that plod has finally confirmed that most riders killed in N Wales
are from England that Welshist **** from Swindon has unsubscribed.

I find that quite interesting actually, but that's just me.

I find it highly likely to be flawed. They may have found that more
white men are killed than other ethnic groups, that more of the victims
are within the 35+ age band, that the NW England and Midlands are
represented more highly than other areas and that left hand bends were
more dodgy, but to combine that into the statement quoted above
displays the media's typical marginal grasp of logic.

Ps. I know that sentance is too long, so Merlin me.

Umm, so, your point was...? It's statistical, innit? Who was it that
said that "there are lies, damned lies and statistics"? Disraeli?
    Whatever.

I'd guess the basic numbers are likely to be correct it's just that it's
been summed-up by some PR spod for the police for press release, possibly
further "summed up" by CS Anwyl and then likely re-summed up by the media,
in this case the BBC (gawd bless 'em), and then regurgitated as fact,
although, in the defence of the latter, they have quoted the CS.
    Heh. you an me both.

    Indeed.

What puzzles me is that weren't NWP being quite vocal that they were
getting tough on bikes and speeding this year and that they wouldn't
    tolerate it?

If so, what else do these statistics say? That we all deliberately headed
to North Wales to bait the cops? That there are more numpties on the
roads this year? Or that the cops chose to ignore more of it safe in the
knowledge that they'd have enough material for a bloody and shocking
awareness campaign for next year and that, generally, Darwinism works for
    them?

Or that they're losing the battle, just as they appear to have lost the
battle to keep drugs off the streets, and the north Wales Chief Plod,
Brunstrom, has gone on record as saying he wants drugs legalised and
decriminalised, on that basis I wonder if he's gonna call for the
    legalisation of speeding soon ;o)

Yep. Seems to me that they've been targeting the wrong people all
along, otherwise the death rate would've fallen.

    Yeah, sort of.

I also had in mind, as others have pointed out, that given they know
full well who the suicides are and how they are going to die that plod
could have put a bit more of an effort into keeping more of them alive.
