We had, at one stage, about 5000 battery hens on the farm, so I know my
chickens. "Cloaca" is the sound made by hens in the Gaelic-speaking parts
    of the West of Ireland.

I confess, ISTR a post some while back detailing that the monotremata were
the only animals that possesed a cloaca. It appears that I was wrong.

Monotremata employ a single orifice for reproduction and excretion, hence
the name. Anything without cloaca would be simple /full/ of shit.
