Why don't they just list a 5 year old jap bike (ie a very liquid item)
and have no reserve with a low starting price? It would quickly get bid
up to market price, and seem all the more legit.

Did anyone notice that in the 4th picture down, the vehicle parked behind
the bike is a left-hand-drive GMC van? Seems like an odd vehicle to find in
