Wakko, George Pollard, Brian Walker and RedShad are on the road..
I had to decline this little run.. they were headed to Hico and the surr-
    ounding areas for the ride..

Also on the itinerary was a stop for some of the best home made pie
in this part of the country.. The Koffee Kup restaurant in Hico has other
tasty vittles on their menu, but that pie is outstanding .. I don't know how
they do it, but the waitresses in that place can offhandedly recite the pie
assortments.. in a breath.. Have I mentioned that I really, really like the
Koffee Kup and it's most excellent home made pie..

Taking the long run over to Hico is icing on the pie or cake, as you might
choose.. although I've never tried the cake.. Some of the highways have
some pretty challenging curves to navigate and the scenery is great..

Some of the guys were going directly to Hico to gather and some of them
were gathering at the Cracker Barrel in Arlington for an early morning
    break-
fast.. The idea was to enjoy the entire ride together.. The ones meeting at
the Cracker Barrel would be joining the others in Hico at the Koffee Kup..

As much as I'd have enjoyed this little ride, the weather is prompting me
to post about it.. Damn.. those storms and hurricanes that are playing hell
with our good friends down on the coast, are also playing hell with our
weather up here in central and north Texas.. It has been raining off and
on since the middle of the morning and some of these showers have
been intense enough for me to keep the Green Vulcan all covered up
out there on the Mexican's patio..

Now.. don't get me wrong.. there is nothing about me that will melt or
anything, but.. dammit.. I just ain't going for heading out with all these
bad forecasts looming about.. guess I've been caught out on that open
highway too many times, with no other choice but to ride it out..

Everyone in this crew is well seasoned and have enough expertise to
survive in the worst of weather, but dammit.. I worry about them anyway
until I have heard they've all made it home safe..

You guys be careful out there, and enjoy that ride.. hopefully, I'll be
out there with you on the next one..

Live to ride, ride to eat!

Met up with the DFW hooligans at Hico, at pie, (thanks, Redshad), rode to
Dublin for some real Dr Pepper (the DFW hooligans went looking for curves
instead) and rode home. No rain to speak of, got hotter the closer I got
to home, the headwind coming home sucked, and Bluffalo Bob (from rmh) got
to practice emergency stopping when a fucking idiot decided to make a
left turn in front of him. It wasn't the pickup that caused the problem,
it was the 40' trailer the fucking idiot was pulling. I'll probably go
to hell for what I yelled toward the church the fucking idiot turned
    into.

Bill, you were missed. It was good to meet Brian and see Wakko, Louie,
and Redshad again. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to the other
Bill, he was there as well.

It was good to meet you too, George.

Unfortunately, we didn't find the curves we went searching for and
Bill wrecked his bike. Bummed the day, but we all hope Bill isn't hurt
badly. I'm sure he'll be sore tomorrow though....unless the hospital
turns him to "Better Living Through Drugs". The wife and I have to go
back in the morning and get his bike. There's not much left of it, and
if Bill doesn't hurt now, he will when he sees the bike.
