    The cow poop fire was already sending evil-looking clouds of dark
    smoke into the air this morning when I stopped to gas up in Fillmore.

    (Did I ever mention that my greatuncle Weaver used to run a cafe in
    Fillmore to feed the oil drillers?. All that area is sedimentary
    strata and oil domes.)

    I thought the huge fire might have something to do with the crude oil
    storage tanks and pumps and piping on the hills, but the theory is
    that spontaneous combustion of cow manure started the fire which was
    blown west towards Hwy 23, which was closed when I rode back through
    Fillmore this afternoon.
