Ah yes, I wanted to avoid anything to do with tickling; choking is
    definitely the way to go.

I love this group, you can go from pratt to genius in one simple
    misunderstanding.

  4. I think the whole Des baiting thing has simply gone too far. If some
has gone to the point where the contents of the original URL get
    written.......

In days past someone like Windy would have been along to call them off
by now, but then some people are missed.

At the end of the day its simply a news group, and a fair proportion
of people on it know each other IRL. From the meets at Sarratt, it
wasn't a clique, and anyone could come along but it was a prerequisite
to get along with others and be able to cope with very different
viewpoints without going off the rails.

Also, in many ways Bear had a great sense of humour, and I had a few
very good laughs with him - he'd worked at one place I had, and some
    of his insights were helpful....

Of course its not for me to suggest what people should or shouldn't
debate, write or bait, but stand back and look at it from afar......

In the anticipation of all the "f*ck off who asked you replies" I'll
    get me coat.

After the dust has settled I'll read it all again, and come back
secure in the knowledge as to whom I should be reporting to and aware
of my place in the NG as a mere pissant. ;-)

    Later................

I've seen little evidence of Des baiting in all honesty.

Des has *chosen* to get into arguments with several people.

I think in the past someone may have suggested for the sake of
readability of the NG that Des should be ignored but I don't think
'called off' is a fair reflection.

  7. Mine too. I'd forgotten about it until you mentioned it, and I'm smiling
now. Interestingly, I'm using much the same tactic on my Nigerian
    scammers.

  9. Nah, not on a public forum. However, I will say this: I have received my
    first Nigerian death threat.

    Chortle chortle!

    Well said that man.

Saves you repeating yourself I suppose.

I would recommend updating it to include "KILL FILES" scary things that
    they are.

    Well done Monsieur Zeouane.

  20. Cheers, he's explained it was a joke.

Please can someone explain to me cos I'm thick what's actually funny
    about it?

    Thanks.

In the absence of any explanations that hit the mark I'll just have to
    assume that it's not funny.

On lighter note we could have one of those cross posting thingies
about whether or not we should be writing it's if we want to be 100%
    correct.
