OK - I'll give you that one, actually - stupid continuity errors
    notwithstanding.

    I'm about 90% through season 5 at the moment, really enjoying it;
can't quite understand why I didn't get into it at the time.
Never heard of it (but yeah, really liked Band of Brothers)
Seen the odd episode, and was given the entire box set last Christmas
    - will start watching it when I'm done with WW.
    Again, never heard of it.
    it's a comedy musical thing - it's very amusing[1], but I think it'd
be a "love it or hate it" experience - you'd need to try a couple to
    see.

[1] featuring two guys who bill themselves as being "formerly New
    Zealand's fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-
    funk-comedy folk duo"

Funny at first but the novelty wears off pretty quickly.

I thought the first series or two of Weeds were quite good. Jumped the
shark as soon as it changed location though. I fear Mad Men may have
just done the the same thing, though that descended into (very stylish)
    soap after the first series.

I've embraced my inner poof and started watching Will & Grace from the
start. Better than all that drama bollocks.

well, I'm still enjoying it 2/3rds of the way through series one.
Gaylord. Actually, I've seen a few episodes and it's OK, but not
    enough to watch rigourously.

For stupid comedy you can't beat Big Bang Theory or The IT Crowd.

Season 2 was the low point. All of it. Season 3 was alright though.

Ooh, looks like season 4 just started... time to fire up a torrent
client and watch Don jump the shark.

Would have been better if it was J&K, obv.

And ironically he (and I) are the ones who know about over-priced ladies
    shoes from the telly.

Ah good oh, I was going to ask for some series recommendations given that
the TV is so shit at the moment. I've not seen that, so will give it a go
as you're not the first to recommend it (of a sort).

Modern Family still has me in stitches. I keep watching even the old
episodes when Sky show them. Each time I pick out the more subtle jokes.

    Never heard of it.

But it has reminded me of Arrested Development, which was bloody genius.

I found it funny if I happened to catch an episode, but never sort of
managed to watch it in order, so often wasn't sure what was going on.

They're making a film version of it, apparently.

It's worth watching from start to finish. Three seasons of postmodern
    greatness.
    So I hear.

****, it's expensive on DVD. I may have to see if it's available on a
    torrent.

Anyway, enough of this crap, off to the Argyll Arms of all places[1].

[1] the perils of meeting up with people at the intersection between
the Victoria and Central lines. Still, it's a Nicholsons, so should be
    OK.

All three seasons available as DVD rips or 720p on TVTorrents.
Not a bad pub at all, and dead handy for meeting up with people.

Shame it's in the west end really.

work and would obviously result in millions of fuckwits getting violently
    shit-faced.'

Of course he is, for any fule kno that animals have no concept of fear
(nor concepts, actually) and that they never feel pain - that is
    reserved for higher creatures.

I started watching it, was enjoying it (even the kid from The O.C. is
good), and then I read that it was "too dark" for NBC so they pulled
the plug. Another channel has bought it up but I'll wait and see what
the reviews are like as I heard they made cutbacks.
