The Range keeps the Astonish stuff. Good it is. Household cleaner with extra
added bleach is my weapon of choice, from baths to wheels.

I bought a big spray bottle of that pink Muck-Off stuff. It was pretty good
    on most things.

Did you not know this? Maybe it's just Alfa owners that know the dire
warnings of using washing up liquid in screen washers :)

Nope, no idea it was full of salt, but makes sense. I knew it was not a
Good Thing, but I thought that was because it allegedly takes the polish
off as well. I've never heard of using it as screen wash. Bubbletastic.

  5. Exactly. Neat? Fucking no way, Jose.
It's good stuff used in its proper dilutions, but I've seen it damage
    paint used neat.

  6. I found biodiesel is a very useful de-greaser and weedkiller. It damages
nothing on the bodywork or alloy castings/wheels and smells ok, plus you
don't get dandelions unexpectedly sprouting from your clocks.

I rather doubt that a drop of Fairy in 4 litres of water for the windscreen
washer has any detrimental effect whatsoever. I use it in summer.

    I've never owner an Alfa.

I've never had a single jet wash place refuse to allow me to do a
    bike.

Of course, if you're going to direct the full force of the jet onto
your radiator/wheel bearings/laquered engine parts etc. then you've
only got yourself to blame for the ensuing trouble.

  10. Which is why I always avoid using it as a tyre-fitting lube too.

Oh I can't ever find the Cif with bleach in any of our usual shops.

    FFS, even Amazon sell it.

    Google for "Oxy-Gel".

It got closed down for safety inspection one time I wanted to use it because
some whingeing yuppie wanker scalded his hand by holding the metal part of
the spray lance instead of the rubber grip.

Typical example of the kind of twats that get idiotic restrictions imposed
    on the rest of us.

Dunno so much - I was wondering what ate the mudgards on the CB200.

I believe it was the Watford Tesco that were a bit stroppy.
Indeed but they don't like it when some muppett sues them for not warning
them about the peanut content of the bag of peanuts.

I think you have to look at what you're trying to remove and dilute it
accordingly. I put it on neat (with a small paintbrush) if I'm trying to
remove the likes of chain lube from a rear wheel but it's washed off
with soapy water then rinsed with clean water pretty soon after applying
    it.

I bought a 25l drum of it about 10 years ago and it's still about 1/3
full so I haven't exactly gone mental with it. Obviously there's no
paint left on the wheels of any of my bikes (or Adies) and the bearings
are falling out but they look clean.

Best not tell Adie that the stuff she thinks is TFR and has previously
used to clean the chain lube off the back wheels of several of her bikes
    was actually mineral water.

I have done, lots of times, on several bikes includingYamahas.

It's never ripped the paint off when I've done it and my usual method
of using it is to apply it to wherever I see fit then leave it while I
roll a smoke and sit around a while then I work my way back over the
bike with warm soapy water to get it off. If it's worked I then hose it
down with cold water from the outside tap but if it still looks cruddy I
    repeat the procedure where needed.

I suspect anyone who's fucked their bike using it either left it on
there for a lot longer than the 5 minutes crn suggested or they used it
on a bike that already had suspect paint.
