Something similar happened to me in Alexandria a little while ago. I
saw the opposing set of lights go red, counted of 3 seconds and opened
up... for about a fraction of a second before desperately hammering the
brakes: just in time to avoid being cleaned up by a commode door
running the red light which I couldn't see because of the truck
    alongside me.

It wasn't until about a half hour later that I realised that it was the
truck coming to a sudden stop which had raised the alarm.

OK so the usenet rules which everyone must abide by now include, you cannot
reply to anyone who Smee doesn't want to acknowledge exists - unless you don't
quote them, because you might upset Smee, and you cannot reply to anyone
unless you quote them because Smee can't afford an extra 2kb of hard drive
space to store them, or recall who they were. Done.

  17. I have been demerit point free for the last 25 years, only failed on 4
occasions over 29 years, so it hasn't been working too badly :)
