mine was an original white, pink and aqua colour scheme - after that they
    just got gaudy :)

lighter n nicer to ride than my zx7r, perhaps not quite as good looking ,
but the engine took on a loverly hard edge to it at about 8000rpm , made
more hp than my zx7r too - 102 vs 99hp

The 250cc Jawa 'Californian' I had in Darwin in the late '70s.

It had no petu\icularly redeeming features other than being an interesting
    bike.

Did it have the dual-purpose kick-starter/gear-lever and the semi-automatic
clutch (that you only had to use for take-off, not for gear-changes)?

Dual kickstart/gear lever and ordinary clutch - and the nifty twin pipes
    from the single cylinder.

Great little bike, swapped an eky for it.

They did! But it was more of an activity related feeling than an illicit
    hallucinogen :)

I enjoyed mine but truthfully compared to modern rides the brakes were
scary , they drank lots of petrol and performed sorta ok , I prefered my
500 velo single for pure handling and oh the sound through a megaphone
on full song down the motorway , nothing like a decent single reving .
    40k ?
    ouch

Triumph T140 Bonneville. Mechanically it was a heap of shit, but I had
a lot of fun on it, it was a nice bike to ride when it was going.

Adding up the reciepts and estimates for the flash new paint job (dual and
sport seats) Staintune exaust, new Krauser panniers, new disks, pads,
braided brake lines, overhauled engine, 2 pack frame paintjob, Boyer Branson
ignition, dual plug heads, overhauled gearbox, overhauled final drive, new
switchgear, new wiring loom, new tyres, overhauled starter motor, etc plus
the original value of the the bike I estimate the guy I purchased it from
spent over $20,000, I paid a hell of a lot less for it.

Looks much better in real life (and with a better photgraph) and it is the
    correct vcolor for the bike.

Boxer, you have either too much time or too much money, or possibly
    both.

Nice RS. You can see where his $20k went. I wouldn't mind one of
    those 75/6s though.
Pity they both have those ATE brakes. I'm told good braided line
improves them a bit. The drums on the models before, and the Brembos
on the models after put them to shame.
