What is it with FX and twins? 898s allowed in?

The big twin rules for the AMA seem to be somewhere between BSB and WSB.
So that's 3 different sets of tune.

Duc got pretty much what they wanted with them allowing aftermarket
piston's and I doubt they're too worried about the extra weight, isn't
that just about what you guys did?

I think in BSB the weight is the same for 4s and twins but they have to
run stock pistons. There was a face off and Ducati demanded aftermarket
pistons but eventually they folded. And the 4s have also been pulled
back. The top end is more or less the same but they have to run stock
    cranks, conrods and pistons.

So, you guys pulled the 4's back a little, but didn't give Duc all they
wanted either, though just getting the extra capacity will probably
still make them competitive right out of the box. It would appear that
the direction is not so much focused on power, but more on economics,
or cost saving, as well as leveling the field a little. IMO a wise move
and given the news lately about world markets probably an intuitive one
too. Weren't you guys pondering a spec tire too?

Yup. Pirelli is the single supplier in 2008.

The formula is roughly WSB chassis with WSS spec engines. So stock lift,
free duration cams. Stock crank, conrods, pistons. Ported head. free
exhaust. free ECU. free gearbox. And the aim is reduced costs.

PB had a display of the ZX10R factory kit. It's was surprising how
little of it a BSB tuner said they were going to use. Cams, ECU,
exhaust, gearbox were all coming from 3rd party suppliers. Even the
radiator they said they buy one and then get it copied in Italy for 1/3
    of the price.

The big question about Ducati in BSB is not if they'll be competitive
but if they'll hold together. If they push the rev limit too much,
they'll lose power from the 3 ring pistons and blow the crank. It all
depends just how marginal for the road and race oriented the 1098R turns
out to be. Could Ducati sell 1000 that require 5000 mile rebuilds when
used for trackdays and occasional road riding? I rather think they
    could.

I would've thought Dunlop, aren't most made in the UK?
And for a National series it looks like you guys got it going on, well,
except for the spec tire deal. I especially like the free gearboxes,
    more to play around with!
Again, that's good news, at least to me..
I seriously doubt that new one will last long spinning it as tight as
last years, of course, it prolly won't have to either...
