I spent over an hour Googling for that last week and came up empty-
handed. I don't suppose you've got a copy of it?

I didn't think for a moment I was in the clique but the last time I read
it I'd not been posting here that long.

From what I recall, it was inspired genius on Des's part.

    on August 15th 2002. But was x-no-archived.

I wouldn't have called Des a genius. I might have called him a sad
**** who couldn't understand why the majority of people thought he'd
be doing himself a favour if he decided to end it all.

I couldn't see what all the fuss was about and even got called a dim
**** for entering into dialogue with him but now I've read some of his
offerings again, he doesn't seem any more venomous than one or two of
    the other regulars in here.

I rarely had Des in the killfile but he always seemed to think the
World hated him and as a consequence he became more than a bit
    tedious.

Venomous isn't a very good description of him either because that
implies that he would deliberately try to upset people...

I very rarely keep a KF myself and if I do it's because I don't trust
myself to ignore someone for a few days. There's no one in it now, for
example and has been empty for many months.
You don't think it was deliberate then?

See, when I got called the dim **** thing, people really (Cab IIRC)
couldn't believe I was telling him things. People said he (Des) was a
troll and I should ignore it.

Now, I thought trolls did it on purpose. That's the feeling I got when I
went back over some of his old posts although at the time I just replied
to stuff that seemed worth replying to.

Venomous suggests that he was trying to hurt people. I don't think he
did that but I do think he went out of his way to wind them up. If you
removed that from ukrm then it would remove a lot of the laughs that
    make it worth subscribing to.
I don't care who replies to trolls. I find it more effective to kill a
complete thread once it becomes a mess of trolling and replies than to
killfile individuals who might post something else that I want to
    read.
