Thats the whole point of it.

Ducati can sell these @$50k+ [Its a approx. price could be more] while
the Jappers would NEVER be able to that, unless the Jappers gold plate
    them or something.

Different brands different customers and different marketing.+ its
another LTD edition scam by Ducati. [They are getting very good at
    this]

Just like Ferrari can ask $350k+ and still CHOOSE who can buy its
product. The bike is just a commodity not a means of transport.Ego
    stroking if you will......

They are only making 400 pieces and because the demand will outstrip
supply those who own a 996/916 or *connected* will get first shot at
    getting one.

They are nothing more than a 2 wheel Ferrari with the same type of
    customer base.

All is not lost as the 4cyl. donk *could* become main stream production
model in a more tame form, depends what response the Aprilia-4 gets...

    Cheers..

could ? of course it will

this 1st set is to make some money out of it by providing a limited edition

then they will prob down spec it and mass produce it , and will prob sell
    alongside the 999

alas when these come into production. MotoGP moved to 800cc.

They will sell the 50 machines as required for homologation.

This will stop the 1200cc twin rule methinks

One! Just buy one and deck it out in Ohlins or Penske with BST or
    Marchesini wheels!

    Drooool. R1....how I love thee.

Good to see you agree it's badly-built, overpriced italian shit
LOL, why would they need to, when their just-as-fast and
much-more-reliable bikes are available at a fraction at a cost. no need
to spend $80,000 when you can get superior japanese product at a
    quarter of the price

Based on Aprilia's shit sales record, I'm guessing it'll suck

But you can drive one Ferrari all at once, can't do that with four RX7s.

My son's SLK 350 is "quite nice" to drive.
