John Faine's radio program this morning mentioned that the pillion
passenger, on which I assume the charge of conduct endangering life was
    based, was a 12-year-old.
Frontal identification numbers would have stopped this reckless
    behaviour, right?

    Bikers 'clocked at 179km/h'
    16-05-2005
    From: AAP
TWO motorbike riders, one with a passenger, were caught doing nearly
180km/h in southern Victoria, police said today.
Officers using a handheld radar allegedly detected the pair travelling
at 179km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Bass Highway, near Phillip Island.
One of the men, who was carrying a pillion passenger, was expected to be
charged with reckless conduct endangering life, while the other man
would be charged with riding at a dangerous speed and exceeding the
prescribed content of alcohol, police said.

Sheesh... what a stupid poll. If I choose to ride my bike at excessive
speed and hit a vehicle, then generally I'l going to kill myself but
not anybody else. What would happen if I hit the same vehicle in an SS
commodore, whilst travelling at the same speed? More damage, right?
Maybe we should ban all vehicles that can travel over 100Km/h? Maybe we
should just ban all vehicles and make everybody take public transport?
Then we'd have to ban buses, because they're too dangerous...

What a stupid response, what if you hit a pedestrian, other motorcyclist,
    bicycle rider etc.

"1,596 road crash deaths in 2004"

    That's 4.4 a day for Australia for a population of 20M. Vietnam's population
    is 83M.
