In this months Autocar (which I was perusing) it mentions the A413 is
(rumoured) to be dropping from NSL to a 50.

I guess I'm surprised it's taken this long.

Going to make the FOT's a bit more exciting/boring depending on your
    attitude :)

And hopefully, the bit that runs bang outside my old house is being
dropped from a 40 to a 30. As long as they also permanently fix the
loose drain cover that goes "Kerrrr-Blang!!!" every time a wheel goes
    over it.

Why hopefully? Your average 'Sunday'rider isn't going to take any
notice of any speed limit, let alone a low one.

Oh I don't know... the guys I ride with tend to obey limits in villages,
but the NSL is a different bag.

Maybe not. But they may notice the FOAD truck as I reverse it out of
    the driveway into the road.

    Bummer.

Still, if it slows the cars down, it'll make overtakes a little easier to
    plan

What the hell are you running in that needs to be kept below 50?

  8. I imagine it is the GSXR750 that has appeared in his sig. Alternatively
I have not been paying attention and don't know what I am talking about.

Well you might imagine that, as might I, but unless he's done
something _very_ strange to the gearing he should be able to do 80-odd
    in the running in period.
I've not exactly been keeping up with the latest myself, what with two
weeks off skiing followed by two weeks here in California.

Why would you reverse out of your driveway if the size of your vehicle
makes it dangerous to other road users? The highway code does say that
if possible you should avoid reversing onto a main road from a driveway
    if at all possible.

Good Lord! Does it really? I must have missed that bit while reading
up on speed limits and their applicability to motorcycles :)

How does that affect you disregarding other rules? Perhaps more
motorcycles should ride past your place to make sure you notice them.

If you think the spark has gone, maybe it is time for a separation.

It's only a drop of 10mph. It's not like the speeds we [1] do on the 413
are going to be any more illegal than they already are.

    [1] Present company excepted, obv.
