On mainlaind Britain and I don't count the far reaches of Scotland :)

Coming back from Anglesea on Sunday I saw loads of petrol stations with
the price at 99.9 for both Diesle and UL. Which made me think that they
were ripping someone off as the tax on diesle is higher.

So , despite needing petrol (158 before reserve on the XJR was good) I waited until I hit a known lower price one
just off the A5 (95.9). I then headed off towards Betsws-y-coed so I could cut over
to Llanwrest and revisit the scence form 2001. Just outside BYC I spotted
an Esso station with Deisle at 105.9 and UL at 101.9. Which was odd,
because as I suspected the Shell in BYC was 94.9.

Not sure which waqs worse, Esso ripping people off or the 2 bikers filling
up that had approached fro BYC !

Apparently, according to Radio 2, the majority of pumps can only display 2
    digits (as in 99.99)

The words "as in" may be a clue.
Only an idiot would think a dot is a digit.

Maybe but, ignoring the decimal point (by your rule), only a total fuckwit
would think "9999" was comprised of two digits..... It's either one digit
repeated three further times or 4 separate digits. It *definitely* isn't 2
    digits.

Which part of "as in" do you not understand?
I you tell me, I will try to explain it as simple as possible.

BYC is one of the premier mtb places in the country so they're taking
advantage of the mtb tourist industry.

I blame not doing GCSEs for my particularly poor grasp of the correct
grammatical composition of sentences what is in English.

    You sarcastic ****.

    Hmmmm.. Last bite, I think.

You inferred that the 'dot' isn't a digit. Therefore, according to you "99
99" is 2 digits. Not "2 digits prior to the decimal point, as in 99.99" but
    "2 digits".

  13. **** me, I was expecting to use a landing net, but jumping straight into
the keepnet is awfully kind of you.

This is just so much fucking bollocks. Not that I used to work for The
Exxon Corporation making their petrol pumps for them and know about
these sorts of things. No it is just fucking bollocks as is everything
said or done in, on, or around Radio 2.

There's a garage in Wiltshire charging £1.06/litre for unleaded but
    'only' £0.99 for diesel.

  16. Shertainly is, Mondaypenny. The same pumps in use here have been
displaying Euro prices of 100.0+ for the past while.

    A minority of twats, obviously.

Twats with no sig seps that also post binaries to text-only
    newsgroups.
    Like this, for example.

The big sign outside my local garage is currently displaying petrol at
"99.99" and diesel at "1.02" which raises some interesting possibilities.
