I am fucking trying, you know!

In any case, whichever comes first: getting a job or selling my house,
I'll be getting another bike sooner rather than later. No idea what,
    mind.

How about a nice KTM that's even less practical than the one you had
    before?

I got home at 1pm, pulled all the back & seats off, the fuse had fallen out
of the alarm, it was just hanging on to one contact, shoved it in, switched
    the killswitch on & brroooomm!!

    Nice one, cheers

    I've got one.

Not the fastest thing you'll ever ride, but nippy enough off the mark
and I doubt there's much out there better at soaking up potholes etc.

if I were to get another SM style bike, it'd be one of the larger type
with a properly powerful large v-twin engine - I like the look of the
    Aprilia one.
