Ah, irrational behaviour. Looks like you're right and it is female.

Either that or male and enthusiastic/pissed/whatever.

Seriously, bloody bad luck that. Hope you get over it with as little
    pain as possible.

That's the new Fireblade, so quite a bit later.

    CBR1000F appeared in 1987.

Or were you thinking of the VF1000R?

    Or the CB1100R?

    CBR1000F and CBR600F arrived in 1987, VFR750 was 1986.

: So in 1992, when the original fireblade came out, you know the boring
: one that the press called the "Widow Maker".
: What did Suzuki have that was anywhere close. In fact until the bike
: you've got now, they didn't did they?
: I mean, they had the GSX-R 1100, but that wasn't as quick was it? and
    : I can't find specs of the GSX-R 750 of the time.

The GSXR11 was quick enough but heavier and longer than the 'blade.

  5. Honda was five years late with the fireplace (aka the "Window Cleaner").
It was heavier and more powerful than an early GSXR750.
It was lighter and less powerful than an early GSXR1100.
It was heavier and less powerful than a GSXR7/11.

Though why Suzuki spent the early '90s making their bikes
heavier is a mystery. Perhaps they were trying to emulate
    Kawasaki?

Thanks to Buzby of this Parish I've contacted Suzuki. They asked me to
speak to my dealer again and get them to submit a report. They will
then consider if they will make a good will gesture. At least they
    didn't say no.

The CBR1000F was an in-line four. The VFR was (and is) of course a
v-four. No real crossover there, as the VFR was a development from the
v-four 500cc race rep, whereas the CBR came out of the CB900F (IIRC).
Last year's nutter race bike usually become next year's sports tourer.

    Hi, I'm Loz btw.

Yeah, but there were two versions of the VFR when it first came out; the
VFR750F and the VFR750R ... the latter being better known as the RC30.

So the confusion here is that the VFR750F really _was_ designed to be a
sports tourer whereas the VFR750R was a proper race bike.
Hi Loz, think of a new posting name before Monday will you?

Except it probably would have had that awful frame.
Well, it is a special, so eye of the beholder and all that.

7/11 would have been any 750 with an 1100 mill dropped in.

The VFR750F is widely considered to be a piece of crap. The RC30 came
afterwards and is said to be a classic. I haven't ridden either,
unfortunately, so I really couldn't say. The later RC45 (RVF750) was
and is pretty tasty, winning easily at the TT when it came out. I got
pretty tired though of seeing a pair of them go past me on Sundays
    when I had my XJ900F.
I'm sure you have a very good reason for saying that, Andrew, but the
answer will have to be, "No".

Eh? You don't seem to know very much about bikes..... the VFR750F was
pretty much the _only_ sports-tourer to buy throughout all it's
versions. Even now there's very little to touch it.
This shows in your opinion of the VFR750F.

Although, I think you may be getting confused with the VF750F, which
    _was_ a pile of shit.
Not too complicted to work out.... Loz = know-nothing numpty, Lozzo =
    SpeedySpic Engineering. Sorted.

You're thinking of the VF750, not the VFR750 which has a reputation as a
    great all-rounder.

The VFR750F and the VFR750R were both launched at the same time, IIRC.
Neither have I, but at least I have a vague idea what I'm talking about :)
I say it because you're going to get confused with Lozzo, but if you want to
stick with "Loz" then that's fine.

I'm just saying that I, personally, wouldn't take on "Knifer" Lozzo - 6'8"
tall, barrel chested, psychopath of this parish.

Well, not after I saw what was left of the last person who pissed him off,
    anyway.

My bad. As you suggest later on, I was thinking of the VF750F. Oops.
I haven't expressed my opinion of the VFR750F (or the VF750F, for that
matter). I was stating what *popular opinion* had to say about the
VF750F (mistakenly identified by me as the VFR).
For the record, I reckon the VFR750 is one of the finest bikes ever
for doing what it does, but what do I know?
I was getting confused. It's getting better though.
Based on my entrance here on ukrm, I'd have to agree with you.

    Thank goodness for that!
As you've already guessed, I don't think anyone will confuse me with
    "Lozzo".
    But can he run fast?
Thanks for the advice. And for the gentler grilling than I deserved.
